Transportation Assistance

Our chapter is fortunate to have a part-time driver who provides emergency transportation to medical treatments, clinic and hospital appointments.

This service is provided free of charge to individuals who have no other means of transportation available to them. Rides should be scheduled well in advance, however clients must be completely mobile or need to have someone accompany and assist them during their appointment.

Transportation is regularly provided to veterans to the VA Hospital in West Haven. In addition, the chapter provides back-up transportation for Valley Transit and the Cancer Society clients for radiation and chemotherapy treatments.

Over 130 persons were provided medical transportation through this program on a regular basis, 6 veterans receive transportation to the VA hospital and several of the 75 Valley Advocate clients and their families depend on this program as their primary means of medical transportation.
