Chapter History
The Valley Chapter was originally was part of the New Haven Chapter, chartered as the Ansonia branch on September 27, 1917.
On May 31, 1959, the chapter was re-chartered as the lower Naugatuck Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, maintaining a chapterhouse in Ansonia, serving the five Valley towns of Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour and Shelton.
In the fall of 1998, the chapter changed it's name to the Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross and continued to serve the five Valley towns.
In December of 2005, the Valley Chapter moved from their chapterhouse in Ansonia to it's new home in Derby.
